Sculptra collagen-stimulator treatment at Solura Skin Clinic – natural long-lasting volume & skin quality
At Solura Skin Clinic, I offer Sculptra, a cutting-edge collagen-stimulating injectable, to help restore facial volume, improve skin texture and delay the visible signs of ageing. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that simply fill space, Sculptra works by gently encouraging your body’s own collagen production, for results that evolve naturally. Perfect for skin laxity and hollowing that comes with ageing, or from weight loss medications such as Ozempic.
How Sculptra works:
Sculptra is made from the synthetic material poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). When injected into the deeper layers of the skin, its microparticles act as a scaffold, stimulating fibroblasts to generate new collagen over time.
The restored collagen helps rebuild your skin’s structural foundation so that cheeks, temples and jawline regain definition and skin thickness. Because the effect builds gradually, the result is subtle, natural and long-lasting rather than immediate but short-lived.
Why choose Sculptra at Solura Skin Clinic:
With over 15 years’ experience in plastic surgery and now specialising in non-surgical facial aesthetics, I apply Sculptra using advanced dilution and injection technique to maximise safety and minimise risk. Although earlier techniques carried higher rates of nodules or lumps, the modern approach with careful dilution, micro-cannula use and post-treatment massage has significantly reduced that complication rate. I design each treatment plan individually, matching vial numbers to your age, volume-loss and aesthetic goals, so your transformation is entirely tailored and measured.
Treatment plan (vial-per-decade guideline):
To simplify how we plan Sculptra, I use a guideline of roughly one vial per decade of age across your first 12 months of treatment. For example:
If you are 44 years old you would need 4 vials in the first 12 months
We’d begin with 2 vials at the first session
Then 1 vial at 6–8 weeks follow-up.
Then 1 vial at 12 months.
After that, for maintenance, you would typically receive 1–2 vials each year to sustain your collagen-building effect.
This phased approach allows your body time to build collagen steadily, avoids over-correction, and ensures long-term benefit rather than a single “quick fix”.
What to expect at treatment and aftercare:
Your consultation will include discussion of your skin health, previous treatments, expectations and a medical history review. On treatment day the skin is cleansed, numbed, and Sculptra is injected using precise technique. You will have some swelling or bruising, but downtime is minimal. Post-treatment I instruct you in massage technique using THE 5-5-5 RULE – massage 5 minutes, 5 times per day for 5 days. This ensures even distribution of product. I also ask you to avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours and to protect the skin with SPF.
Safety & results:
Sculptra is well-established and used worldwide for decades. When delivered by a skilled practitioner it has a strong safety profile. Known potential side-effects include redness, bruising, lumps or nodules (much less common now with modern technique) and mild discomfort. At Solura Skin Clinic I take every precaution to minimise risks and ensure you understand the realistic timeline and outcomes. The improvements typically become apparent from a few weeks onwards, with optimal results over several months as collagen builds and matures.
