Lemon Bottle fat dissolving… the social media star that may not be safe!
What is Lemon Bottle?
Made in Korea, Lemon Bottle claims to be a safe, effective non-surgical solution that will help you eliminate pockets of stubborn fat.
We don’t yet know the full ingredients contained in this product as they’ve decided to keep that a secret. We do know that it contains Riboflavin (vitamin B2).
Is Lemon Bottle safe?
Despite its rising popularity fuelled by social media (there are so many videos showing it “dissolving” bacon fat on TikTok), there are many red flags about Lemon Bottle.
Lemon Bottle is not licensed for use in the UK and is not FDA approved.
This lack of regulation means there is no guarantee of its safety. The product is also not CE stamped, showing the product has not passed inspection testing safety standards and environmental protection requirements.
There is a lack of published clinical data on Lemon Bottle and its safety or efficacy.
And when I say a lack, I mean NO published data to support its claims.
Whilst there are ingredients which are clinically proven to provide fat dissolving, Lemon Bottle does not report to contain these ingredients.
Lemon Bottle is largely performed by beauticians, not medical professionals. This is a significant concern, as administering such treatments requires a deep understanding of human anatomy.
Lemon Bottle is often advertised as having no risks or downtime. I would caution anyone who thinks aesthetic procedures are without risk. Any injection has a potential to cause harm; infection, pain, bruising, bleeding, swelling are all common side effects of fat dissolving injections. Any ingredient that can dissolve fat also has the ability to dissolve muscle, blood vessels and nerve sheaths.
Is Lemon Bottle worth it?
Whilst Lemon Bottle may seem like a quick win to get rid of hard to manage fat pockets, in my opinion, the risks outweigh the benefits. The lack of regulation and clinical evidence suggests this is a treatment with too many red flags. I wouldn’t have this injected in to my face or body. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
